Project Insights
The Benban Solar Power Project is a 150 MW grid-connected photovoltaic facility located in Aswan, developed as part of Egypt’s flagship renewable energy program. Executed in partnership with Swicorp/Acciona and DEC, the project forms a key component of the Benban Solar Complex — one of the largest solar developments in the world.
Integrated into the national transmission network, the facility delivers clean electricity to regional grids, reducing carbon emissions and supporting Egypt’s energy diversification strategy.
Benban demonstrates Egypt’s capacity to attract international investment in utility-scale renewables and serves as a benchmark for future IPP and green energy projects across the region.
