Project Insights
Scope of work: Income with our partner Ansaldo Energia provided engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for steam turbine package with generator and auxiliaries with a capacity of (1× 250 MW).
Client: Middle Delta Electricity Production Company (MDEPC)
Summary on project: As part of the Banha 750 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant, the company executed the Steam Package scope, delivering detailed engineering, procurement, and field integration of steam generation and turbine systems that are central to plant performance. The Banha facility operates with two 250 MW gas turbine generator sets feeding exhaust gas into unfired Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs), which in turn supply steam to a single 250 MW steam turbine generator unit in a combined cycle configuration.
The steam package encompassed specification, procurement, and coordination of key steam-side components including the steam turbine generator, auxiliary steam systems, condenser interface, instrumentation and controls, and integration with plant balance-of-plant systems. Execution was aligned with stringent performance requirements to ensure reliable steam production, thermal efficiency, and operational compatibility within the high-efficiency combined cycle design.
The Banha plant achieves a net output of approximately 750 MW by harnessing both gas and steam turbine cycles, optimizing fuel utilization, and minimizing emissions through dry low-NOx combustion technologies and advanced steam recovery from HRSGs.
